Our member, Ebenezer S. Morlia from Liberia shares his reflection from the recently ended Global Youth Convention by Headway Institute of Strategic Alliance in Capetown, South Africa.
“The Global Youth Convention 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa, was a life changing experience for me, as I represented the youths of Liberia and the Conservation Leaders Network at GYC2024.
For the couple of days spent, the culture, new environment, network and a global family I built was a life changing one, as it will help me to give back impacts to many other youths.
Furthermore, at GYC2024, we had officials from UN, the South African government and Sustainable Companies, they gave their thoughts on youths inclusion, and also how youths can be empowered through decision making and also be engaged into climate change initiatives. Additionally, delegates at GYC2024 gave global youth statements in lines with the theme of GYC 2024.
At it all, the exposure and fun, new friends made the whole convention a life changing experience. I look forward to giving back to my community even more”
We appreciate the exposure our members get from attending international events as it empowers more indigenous youth in their actions towards sustainable development in their respective communities.
